Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis(notes) suffered his second concussion in less than two months in Sunday's 4-1 victory against theColumbus Blue Jackets, according to the Vancouver Sun.

This is the fourth concussion as a professional for Hamhuis, who is in his seventh season in the NHL.

"He's been one of our best defensemen of the year with his steady play both offensively and defensively," said Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault, according to the paper. "It's part of the game. It's not our first injury and we're going to play through it."

With a throng of media members in attendance, Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes put his team through the paces Wednesday in preparation for the Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Fantasy Hockey: Devil of a streak

It's one of the most remarkable turnarounds in recent sports memory.
On Jan. 8, the New Jersey Devils lost a Saturday matinee in Philadelphia. The 2-1 decision, which completed a home-and-home sweep by the Flyers, was the fourth defeat in a row for Jersey and its 15th in 17 games.
When they woke up the next day, the Devils were 27 points out of a playoff spot. Their 10-29-2 record was the worst in the NHL by a whopping 11 points. Their 72 goals for were 22 fewer than the next most-anemic team. Only four teams had given up more

Nearly three years after it became a symbol of the excesses of corporate spending on sports, Citi said Thursday that it had signed a deal to sponsor the United States Olympic Committee.
